Welcome

CALLING ALL DIGITAL ARTISTS and GRAPHIC DESIGNERS

For its ninth installation, ArtBridge invites emerging artists and graphic designers to submit proposals for consideration for large-scale exhibition in culture-rich Brooklyn. This will be a one-artist or collaborative team exhibition–a tremendous opportunity for exposure!– and we ask that your submission not only be an original idea, but one that can be successfully executed in the real world. The installation is scheduled to hang for one year.

Who should submit: The call is open to all emerging* digital artists/designers, 18 years or older.

Submission Guidelines: The selected proposal will ultimately be reproduced in extra-large, high-resolution format, printed onto weather and fade-resistant vinyl and installed on scaffolding in Brooklyn. Though at this stage we are only looking for mock ups and renderings, if selected, you must be able to turn your proposed idea into a digital file that is at least one foot tall by up to 37.5 feet long. We will then enlarge that file four times to final exhibition scale.

*Note: As one of the main objectives of ArtBridge is to give opportunities to emerging artists, we ask that those with exclusive
gallery representation not submit at this time.

Notification and Delivery: Your work is reviewed based on the materials you provide us with for your submission. If your proposal is selected, we will contact you to discuss production of the file, pre-press, etc.

Photography of Exhibition, Artist Rights and Ownership: All pieces chosen for exhibition will be reproduced at 300dpi in CMYK process printing on a weather-resistant, fade-proof vinyl. As the artist, you retain full ownership of your original work and are free to sell it at any time. The reproductions of your work that appear in the show (the vinyl on which your art is printed) becomes the property of ArtBridge. Press photos and official exhibition photos taken by ArtBridge are also the property of ArtBridge and will be available upon request to be used by each artist solely for his/her own promotion. These photos may not be used, reproduced, sold or circulated in any other way without expressed written permission from ArtBridge. ArtBridge reserves the right to showcase your individual pieces on its website and/or in print and digital media for the promotion of this installation and the activities of the organization. After every exhibition, ArtBridge produces tote-bags from the exhibition material that become fundraising tools for the organization. Artists are entitled to one complimentary tote-bag featuring his/her work.
Note: In the event that the opportunity arises for you to sell your original piece at an ArtBridge event, ArtBridge will act as a representative of your work and requires a 30% commission on all sales.

Press/PR: Though press coverage can never be guaranteed, past ArtBridge artists’ works have been featured in The New York Times, Huffington Post, and Interior Design Magazine, among other publications.

Please Include the Following in your submission:

  1. A PDF/JPEG of your proposed piece(s). Your submission can be a single long piece or several pieces from a cohesive body of work that side by side will fit the required dimensions. Please flatten and save your file as a low-res RGB JPEG (no more than 3MB) before submitting and name it as follows: first name_last name (ex. john_doe.jpg)
  2. Brief 50-100 word artist statement
  3. Website link (optional)

Create a single zip file of the above contents, rename the file with your name (john_doe.zip) and send as an attachment to: submissions@art-bridge.org
