James Martocci

James Martocci paints abstracted landscapes inspired by his hiking and travel experiences. Often inspired by New York’s waterways, his compositions attempt to capture a snapshot of water in motion. He achieves his style by using a broad pallet of wet acrylic paint on a variety of paper mediums with a constant spraying of water. He endeavors to stay true to the perspective of his subject while enhancing visual contrast through brushwork. A native of Nassau County, Martocci now lives in the Bronx. He received a graduate degree in Art Education from CUNY Lehman College.
