About

“A City in Motion” is a 600-foot-long exhibition by artist and native Queens New Yorker, Zeehan Wazed. The colors and shapes within the artwork reference a graffiti aesthetic and also take inspiration from the rich movement of this amazing city — from kids dancing in the streets to the everyday hustle and bustle of city life. What seems chaotic on the surface, from a broader perspective reveals the delicate dance by which this city moves.

“A City in Motion” was created in cooperation with youth at the Hanac Cornerstone Community Center, located at NYCHA’s Astoria Houses. This is the second time ArtBridge collaborated with Hanac Astoria. Wazed added an augmented reality element to the artwork by embedding recordings of the youth dancing into the mural.
