Lesley Heller has a storied career as a pioneering gallerist. She first opened The Work Space in SoHo in 1994 as a non-commercial art space. After 10 years she moved to the Upper East Side and reopened as Lesley Heller Gallery. In 2010, Heller was among a handful of dealers to open galleries on the Lower East Side. Opening as Lesley Heller Workspace, the gallery presented solo exhibitions by represented artists in the front gallery, and guest curated group exhibitions in the back. Heller closed her gallery in April 2020 and has continued to work as an art career coach, independent curator, and art advisor to private and institutional clients.
