Imara Moore is a photographer and educator from Staten Island. Her work explores ideas of community, family, history, and memory. She uses photo-illustration and compositing techniques to articulate her concepts. Moore holds a MA in Media Studies from The New School, and a MA of Professional Studies in Digital Photography from the School of Visual Arts. She held the first Artist in Residence/Edward and Sally Van Lier Fellowship at the Alice Austen House Museum and has received multiple grants from the Council on the Arts and Humanities for Staten Island (COAHSI)/Staten Island Arts.
