Colleen Kong-Savage

Colleen Kong-Savage is a fine artist with a penchant for paper. Her first children’s picture book, The Turtle Ship by Helena Ku Rhee, was illustrated in her signature style of paper collage. Since then, Kong-Savage’s artwork has crossed into the digital realm, but still adheres to the aesthetics of collage. In 2021, she was granted the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators inaugural portfolio showcase award. In addition to being an illustrator and graphic designer for small businesses and nonprofits, Kong-Savage is a mural artist who works with schools and communities. She received an MFA in fiction writing from Columbia University.
