Starseeds of Turtle Island is a visual celebration of NYC’s historic Black and Indigenous communities. The artist, Paul Deo, is a Harlem-based multimedia scenic painter and muralist whose work merges history, spirit and technology to create sacred art spaces for communal dialogue. For this work, Deo drew from his family’s lineage to explore the rich history of Indigenous and African American families coming together and forming a united front against slavery and colonialism.
