Dr. Rose Vickers is a curator, speaker, and art specialist. With a research background focusing on Indigenous art, antiquities, and contemporary practice, her international work has been supported by prestigious federal grants, including the Australian Postgraduate Award for continuing investigation in the arts. From 2009 she has conducted arts-related research into coastal areas of Indonesia and Mexico, examining histories of ethnographic art practices with a focus built on primary experience.
Having interviewed artists in over thirty countries, Rose’s writing on subjects spanning First Nations art, post-structural and feminist theory, theories of sexuality, and applied linguistics has been published in anthologies and peer-reviewed texts. Rose regularly speaks at conferences and partakes in panel and public discussions in the United States, Australia, and Europe.
