Eugene Constan

Eugene Constan, artist at ArtBridge

Eugene Constan is a Brooklyn-based artist who graduated with his BFA in Painting and Sculpture from The Cooper Union in New York City in 1986. Constan’s paintings frequently offer a glimpse into the source of their origin; inspired by decaying walls and floors encountered while renovating historic homes. He is intrigued and influenced by patterns and traces of imagery that emerge through the processes of demolition and decay. Many of his paintings are informed subconsciously by an industrial vocabulary. Constan has been awarded Fellowships by The Pollock- Krasner Foundation Inc., Yaddo and The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA. His work was recently featured in the publication Glasschord. He lives and works in Brooklyn. Website: www.eugeneconstan.com
