ArtBridge partnered with Con Edison (@conedison) to install “Illuminating Energy Flow,” a public art exhibition by artist Sophia Chizuco (@sophiachizuco). The 900-linear-foot-long exhibition is installed on elevated construction sheds surrounding the Con Edison Union Square headquarters in Manhattan encompassed by 14th St., 15th St., Irving Pl., and Third Ave. The exhibition is part of the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs’ City Canvas program.Chizuco’s artwork is inspired by the Zen concept of ‘Enso,’ symbolizing sun, infinity, and continuity and presents circles and lines in various colors to suggest potential, kinetic, and sustainable energy. “Illuminating Energy Flow” was also influenced by Con Edison’s commitment to a clean energy future and built upon the artist’s ongoing project “Flakes of Shine,” which transforms elements of natural light — like sunshine and shooting stars — into geometric shapes.

This year we were all faced with challenges we never expected to anticipate, but thanks to our supporters, partners, and most importantly, the artists, we persevered. Despite all the hurdles of 2020, we managed to conduct more programming and produce more installations than any year in our 11-year history. This year-end recap is dedicated to all who helped us along our journey this year.
