James Nelson is a partner at Massey Knakal, one of New York City’s premier real estate brokerage firms. At Massey Knakal since 1998 and a partner since 2004, James has been involved in the sale of more than 260 properties and loans with an aggregate value of over $1.9 billion. He is also a partner in MKRO I, Massey Knakal’s private equity real estate fund. In April 2011 he was included by The Real Deal in its list of the Top 35 and Under NYC Real Estate Players, and was recently ranked as the #1 Top NYC Deal Maker by LoopNet.
The need to give back to the community was an early call for James. He is Vice President of the board for The Catalog for Giving—an NYC nonprofit that funds programs that serve at-risk youth. James has also been honored by the Varardi Ovarian Initiative for Cancer Education (VOICE) as their corporate honoree. In addition, James has been an adjunct professor at NYU since 2005, and is currently a board member at JournalDoc, which provides mechanisms for the medical community to efficiently access up-to-date research. James is excited to join ArtBridge’s Advisory Council as a way to foster synergies between New York City’s arts and real estate communities.
