Rodney Durso, Founder and Director: Starting in 1999 ArtBridge founder Rodney Durso, was principal and creative director of New York based Stormhouse Partners, an international award-winning branding and design agency where he led all client branding initiatives in print, web, packaging and environmental design.
Then in 2006, while teaching as an adjunct professor at Parsons School of Design and working as a brand consultant, Rodney rented a studio in West Chelsea and began his transition into painting and the world of fine art. “I began painting as a way of prying myself out my daily work routine — I needed something totally new. I chose painting because technically it was completely foreign to me. It also has been very interesting to work without the constraints of budgets and schedules which had always served as a kind of compass for my branding and design work”, in short, it’s been extremely challenging and very rewarding.
Early in 2008, while looking around New York at the endless construction scaffolds and sidewalk bridging Rodney founded ArtBridge. It is his hope that the organization’s exhibitions will both alter the city landscape and give a significant push to emerging artists in an increasingly competitive art world.
Jordana Zeldin, Program Director: After receiving her Bachelors degree in Film and American Studies from the University of East Anglia in the UK, Jordana moved directly to New York City to pursue a career in theatre directing. Within a year she rediscovered an old love, photography, and never looked back. That was in 2007.
Since then, she has both trained and worked as a Teaching Assistant at the International Center of Photography, participated in several group shows, and had three solo exhibitions featuring distinct bodies of work.
First introduced to ArtBridge as one of the 26 artists selected for its inaugural installation in March of 2009, Jordana was appointed Program Director in January of 2010. She sees big things ahead for ArtBridge and is grateful to be a part of an organization that she believes will play a significant role in the growing movement to transform the ever-changing landscape of New York City with Public Art.
