ArtBridge: connects KIDS to the arts

ArtBridge: connects KIDS to the arts is a program that seeks to engage New York City school children of all ages with Public Art, and most excitingly, enables them to create it. Using the construction scaffolding surrounding so many City schools as canvas, students have the unique opportunity to create work that will be photographed, printed in large-format on eco-friendly material and hung as an ArtBridge installation on their schools to be seen by classmates, family, and members of local community. Each student quite literally has the chance to alter his or her daily outdoor landscape.

Drawing upon their backgrounds in education–Rodney at Parsons School of Art and Design and Jordana the International Center of Photography’s Teen Academy– Mr. Durso and Ms. Zeldin have worked together to develop a workshop that will get participating student artists thinking and talking about Public Art, its history and invaluable impact on communities.

Are you an educator or student who is interested in learning more about how to bring our program to your school? Email us at kids@art-bridge.org and we will get back to you shortly.
